At the Passover Seder the child is aroused by the many unusual and distinct activities and rituals. The challenge for the young child is to remain awake until the end when we partake of the Afikoman, reminiscent of the Pesach lamb. The Cup of Eliyahu the prophet is focal to the Seder as traditon has it that the Prophet vists every home on Pesach night to participate in the Seder by drinking of the special cup placed there in his honour. The curious boy cannot resist the urge to look intently upon the cup to view the invisible spirit sampling the Passover wine.
